MUSIC
avoid. - ‘Everything Ends’
‘Everything Ends’ EP by avoid.
"We are amazed and beyond grateful that anyone took time out of their day to listen to the songs that five kids from Iowa wrote. We went places we never thought we could or would. We’ll always have our art and the memories we made in the process of creating and showing it all." - Nick Booth
To kick things off, we sit down with an incredible band, avoid. , on their way out of the scene to discuss their music, career, and to give them a proper sendoff, of course! This hardcore band out of Cedar Falls, Iowa will absolutely pull you in with the passion and honesty they strive for in all their music to the point where you start asking yourself if everything good in life really must come to an end...in this instance we wish this was not the case....
Mayfield - "Blossom”
‘Blossom’ by Mayfield
We fell in love with Mayfield, a melodic hardcore band out of Canada, after recently hearing their 2016 album, ‘Hollow Embrace’. These guys have been touring and working on new music as of late, including a new single "Blossom" which is an exciting continuation of their sound! We caught up with the group to discuss the new single, current tour, and their musical inspirations.
The Danger of Falling - ‘Hope / Well’
‘Hope/Well’ EP by The Danger of Falling
The Danger of Falling is a sleeping giant waiting to explode. Seriously, if you want to hear a band absolutely killing the mid 2000's hardcore sound as good as some of the veteran acts now, then give these guys a listen....a few times over, as a matter of fact. We picked up this album and simply cannot put it down which is what led us to showcase these guys. Hopefully, you can understand our addiction.
Blueshift - The rising Metalcore band you NEED to know
Blueshift may be new to your ears, but these guys know how to push boundaries in the genre. They may not be big yet, but their ambition is sky-high with plenty of passion and previous experience to go around. Their goal? Make music which they enjoy first and foremost and hope that you enjoy it too.
We track down the Blueshift crew to see what's next in their budding career!
Currents - "The Place I Feel Safest"
‘The Place I Feel Safest’ by Currents
Currents is a band who has established themselves in the forefront of the progressive metal / djent scene and have three full length albums out since their formation in 2011. As we feel that they are a band you should know, we give you a head start by reviewing their most recent album "The Place I Feel Safest", 2017.
We review Currents' third album, "The Place I Feel Safest"
A Note from the Editors:
We sincerely thank you for checking out our blog and showing your support for all the amazing creatives we got a chance to sit down with this month. Seriously, from the beginning of August until now, we had no clue that we would go from trolling around the metalcore room on JQBX.fm and listening to really cool artists to actually having genuine conversations with some of these guys in a month. Insane what can happen in such a short time when its a passion of yours.
A HUGE thank you to all the artists and people who took a chance on us being something unique. We wouldn't be here without you and hope we can support you in any way that we possibly can moving forward. For only the first issue, the love we have been shown simply with the preview is crazy. People are checking us out on social media and spreading the word in numbers we never even imagined would happen. Its absolutely humbling.
We can only strive to provide the highest quality conversations with some awesome human beings and creatives and feature artists who we feel are already making an impact on their scene, genres, and the world around them. That's our goal. Here's to the future of Dear Untitled.
