“…When James and I (Connor) sat down to begin One Last Daybreak - we both were so into what we bonded with which was "noise emo" - that biggest one being Silverstein, and senses fail - we both grew up massively in love with those bands - but our connection brought us together because of that. We decided that we wanted to go out and if we could make something that if we found that sound as kids, we'd be happy with it - that emo sound. Basically if we were ourselves, looking back and looking for bands and if we found ourselves as a band, and 'A Thousand Thoughts' - would we have gone "man, I like this...I like this, I could listen to this"....long story short, we loved that sound and we wanted to try and put our own identity towards it, and that's where our debut EP came from..." - Connor
Episode #34 brings on an act who may at first sound like a throwback to some stylistically, but rather is an 'emo revival' act, by the name of One Last Daybreak. Emo Revival you say? What's that entail - cover songs from the early 2000's? No, not at all actually - simply driving the sound, emotion, and fervid intensity into the translation of a style that they love themselves, while maintaining a modern aesthetic and quality. That being said, they DO wear shirts and ties like MCR when they do play shows to keep the mood, BUT there is a TON to uncover with this band, so jump directly in here to our discussion of Myspace and general chit chat of the music industry before we dive head on into "What defines One Last Daybreak?" only on Dear Untitled
