"Cap’n Oblivious (Deficit)" (Single, May 14th, 2021)
Dear Untitled is thrilled to exclusively debut “Cap’n Oblivious (Deficit)” (May 14th, 2021), the latest single and music video from the Philadelphia-based, Shreddy Emo Act, Johnny Football Hero!
Formerly featured on a DU interview to announce the addition of a brand new member, Addison Rider (Vocals/Bass), Johnny Football Hero follows up their initial single, “Sister Hellen” with showcased catchy licks and vibrant vocals in their new piece, “Cap’n Oblivious (Deficit)”! Both tracks will be included on their upcoming album, ‘Complacency’, (via Knuckle Down Records) due out Friday, June 25th, 2021!
JFH Lead Vocalist and guitarist, James McGill tells us more about the single:
“…I wrote the song about my frustrations with ADHD, and how it gets in the way of almost all aspects of life. The video we shot is our drummer, Misha, dressed as a clown who has to get from the city to the suburbs for a birthday party. However, he had a night of binge drinking the night before, and his car was stolen. So he has to run…!” - James McGill
Watch as the hungover clown sprints through the Philadelphia ‘countryside’ in “Cap’n Oblivious (Deficit)” - showcasing some familar and famous landmarks along the way - the trek isn’t any joke - its like a self-imposed Philadelphia Marathon!
Nic (DU): Is it possible to describe Johnny Football Hero in one word?
James: “oh..?”
Misha: “Who?”
Addison: “*Wilhelm Scream*”
