Obviously, we have technique and we don't just want to write heavy JUST to be heavy, we still wanna make the songs full, but we really wanted to grab onto that throne of being fucking feral and not giving a fuck...cuz there was no one really claiming that in our area...." - Max Calkins, Lead Singer

Today's feature is Max Calkins, lead singer of the New England Hardcore band, Katahdin. Formerly known as Hallowell, this band hails from Portland, Maine in the US and pride themselves on "being the most ignorant and heavy band that they can be in their area”. Releasing their debut single, “Separation”, in late April 2020, there is little question as to whether or not that statement is true....it is!
